I have witnessed the impact that education can have on a student's life. I believe every student in Irving deserves access to quality teachers, supportive programs, and opportunities to succeed.
I have been employed in Irving ISD since 2015 in various roles, including classroom teacher, PE coach, paraprofessional, campus support, and special education Life Skills teacher. Because I care about Irving students.
I am currently working as an interim teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. I have volunteered both before and after school to help students achieve their academic goals. As a parent who has raised children in Irving ISD, I have also invested in the community through my business and have provided support to families in both spiritual and personal ways. My experiences as a parent, volunteer, educator, and community member and leader have given me a broad understanding of the needs of students, families, and teachers.
Quality educators are the foundation of student success. When educators feel supported, respected, and valued, they are more likely to remain in their position. My approach for attracting new educators is to create an environment where teachers know their voices matter. Even during budget challenges, a district can make small improvements to strengthen employee morale.
Irving ISD has experienced enrollment changes over the past several years that include population shifts, charter schools, private school options, and other factors. The new voucher program is still very recent, so its long-term impact on our district is not yet fully clear. What remains important is ensuring Irving ISD continues to offer strong academic programs, supportive teachers, and opportunities that encourage families to remain in and choose our public schools.
Texas schools have experienced a decline in enrollment over the past several years, reflecting trends seen in many districts across the state. Therefore, attendance in Irving ISD is decreasing because of the following reasons: changes in population, school choice options, and family decisions all contribute to this pattern. District funding is tied to student attendance and enrollment; declining numbers can put a strain on resources and staffing. Even with these challenges, the district must continue providing strong academic programs, quality teachers, and quality services that encourage families to remain confident in Irving ISD.
I will support the district policies, procedures, and guidelines that would ensure every student and employee is treated fairly with respect and dignity. Our goal must always be a school environment where every student feels safe, and every educator can work without fear of retaliation and discrimination.
First, I want to ensure that every student is meeting and exceeding grade-level expectations by strengthenin early literacy and math foundations. When those skills are built early, students are set up for long-term success.
Next, I aim to enhance parent and community engagement. A school district thrives when families feel informed, heard, and involved. In summary, I want to be the connecting piece that brings unity and strength to Irving ISD.

As a business owner and a parent of an Irving ISD student residing within the district, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the school district's needs through my extensive volunteering with Irving ISD and municipal government, as well as my experience in workforce and economic development.
To attract and retain exceptional educators, a comprehensive strategy is essential, encompassing competitive compensation, a nurturing school environment, and opportunities for professional development. Key approaches involve establishing mentorship programs, providing attractive salaries and benefits, granting teachers autonomy in their classrooms, and ensuring robust administrative backing. Furthermore, data-informed initiatives such as teacher incentive programs are instrumental in addressing staffing shortages and cultivating a stable, high-performing education.

Attendance has been declining, a trend observed in other districts within the metropolitan area. While this places some pressure on the district, it is important to examine the data. A contributing factor to these decreasing numbers is the lack of new families relocating into the district.
Effective anti-discrimination policies in educational institutions encompass the adoption of clear and widely disseminated non-discrimination policies (addressing aspects such as race, gender, and disability), the establishment of formal grievance procedures, and the appointment of a dedicated compliance coordinator. These procedures should include mandatory staff training, the prompt investigation of complaints, and support for individuals who have been affected.
Irving ISD recognizes the critical need for community collaborations to effectively bridge the gap between educational attainment and workforce readiness, thereby preparing students for successful future careers. To fully unlock our students' potential and cultivate a rich, engaging, and positive learning environment, prioritizing the establishment of robust connections is essential. City government + business +non profits =Better schools and Community. I will lead the charge!
