I have deep roots in Grand Prairie and a long history of involvement in our schools and community. I’m running because I care about the long-term success of GPISD students, teachers, and families. My professional experience includes budgeting, planning, and accountability—skills that are essential for responsible school board governance. I will focus on supporting educators, strengthening academic outcomes, and ensuring the district manages taxpayer resources wisely.
Great teachers are the foundation of student success. GPISD must remain competitive in attracting and retaining quality educators while maintaining responsible budgeting. My approach is to prioritize classroom resources, support teachers with the tools they need to succeed, and advocate for stronger public education funding at the state level. We must balance fair compensation with long-term financial sustainability so the district can continue supporting teachers and students for years to come.
Grand Prairie ISD is THE model of school choice, and has been for many years. GPISD should continue focusing on academic excellence, safe campuses, and programs that prepare students for college, careers, or technical training so families remain confident in our public schools.
Enrollment and attendance trends change over time, and because Texas school funding is tied to attendance, these shifts require careful planning. The board must monitor enrollment closely and ensure the district is prepared whether student numbers increase or decline. Responsible planning, efficient use of resources, and a focus on classroom priorities will allow GPISD to continue providing strong educational opportunities for every student.
Every student and employee deserves a safe, respectful learning environment. I support clear district policies that prohibit discrimination and harassment, along with transparent procedures for reporting and addressing concerns. Schools must foster a culture of respect, professionalism, and accountability. When students and staff feel safe and supported, they are able to focus on teaching, learning, and achieving their full potential.
My priorities include improving student academic outcomes, supporting and retaining quality teachers, maintaining responsible financial stewardship, and ensuring safe campuses. I also believe GPISD should continue expanding career and technical education opportunities so students can graduate prepared for college, careers, or skilled trades. Strong schools are essential to a strong community, and my focus will always be on what best serves GPISD students and families.
