Rowlett Mayor

The City of Rowlett is a Home Rule City and operates under a Council - Manager form of government. The City Council appoints a City Manager to administer City operations, while the Council is responsible for City policy-making. The Manager makes budget and other recommendations to the City Council and advises the Council of the City’s current conditions and future needs.The Mayor and 6 councilmembers are elected at-large and serve for a 3-year staggered term. If no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast, a runoff election will be held. The Mayor Pro Tem and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem are selected by the Councilmembers.The City Council meets the first and third Tuesdays of every month in the City Hall Municipal Building.
