I have my bachelor's degree in marketing and management and have spent the last eight years serving on PTA boards, including two years as PTA president. After a decade of living in Sachse and raising my family here, I’m committed to giving back to the community. My experience in leadership, collaboration, and service prepares me to represent Sachse effectively.
Between my experience managing a PTA budget and my business degree from Texas Tech University, I’m equipped to make difficult prioritization decisions and allocate resources efficiently. I will engage with Sachse residents and key stakeholders to ensure I understand needs beyond my expertise to help me make informed choices. By balancing fiscal responsibility with community input, I can navigate budget challenges while maintaining essential services. Collaboration, transparency, and careful decision-making will be central to upholding critical priorities for our city.
Sachse should collaborate with state and federal governmental agencies, neighboring cities, Collin and Dallas counties, as well as GISD and WISD. These partnerships should enhance public safety, emergency preparedness, and infrastructure while ensuring our community’s priorities are at the forefront. Open communication, transparency, and respect for local autonomy will help us access federal and regional support, address shared challenges, and adapt national or regional policies to best serve Sachse’s unique needs.
I would support policies that promote inclusivity, equity, and respect for all residents of Sachse. This includes clear anti-discrimination guidelines, regular training for city staff, and accessible reporting mechanisms for residents who experience discrimination. We must ensure that all voices are heard and valued. Every citizen of Sachse matters, and we are committed to fostering a community where everyone feels welcome, respected, and safe regardless of their background or identity.
I’m not certain about the exact public transportation needs for Sachse but, I believe it's important to assess the community's interest and demand. I would seek input from residents, possibly through a survey or a town hall, to better understand whether expanding or improving transportation options is a priority. Any changes would need to reflect the specific needs of our community and ensure that they are both cost-effective and practical for our residents.
Sachse's greatest challenge and opportunity over the next several years will be managing growth effectively while attracting desirable businesses. Areas like The Station and the PGBT corridor offer significant potential for economic development. However, we must ensure that this growth is sustainable, with infrastructure and services keeping pace. By balancing development with quality of life, we can create a thriving, vibrant community that attracts both businesses and residents while maintaining the values that make Sachse unique.
