I started my career as a deputy constable in 1997. I have worked in each and every division of the constables office. Began to serve in October 2018 as the elected Constable. If re-elected this will be my third term. Most recently, I was awarded Constable of the year for Texas from the Justice of the Peace Constable Association. This is the first time a Dallas County Constable has ever received this award in its over 75 years of existence.
All four of my colleagues run a successful operation for their respective precincts.
We deal in mostly the service of civil process. Our office has a high rate of service completion. Precinct five doesn’t just serve process for precinct five constituents but from all over the state of Texas and out of state. Most recently I pushed to have another staffing model implemented and to be used. The one that had been being used was so antiquated. Staffing study was done and we gained another deputy position. I believe we could use more but it’s a start.
Our precinct needs to be better equipped. The squad cars are not equipped like the sheriffs department. We barely received body cameras a few years ago and just recently received tasers. Example after example could be given, but the bottom line is we need to be better equipped. My colleagues and myself have come together and work together when it comes to submitting budgets. We are starting to see some progress.

Accountability and time management
I firmly believe that the service being provided does not meet the expectations of the customers who have paid for it. I have personally spoken to clients who come into my workplace, and they have expressed that Ritz possessions are not being handled in a timely manner. Additionally, both former and current employees have raised serious concerns regarding accountability and professionalism within the organization.
