I am a practicing family and civil attorney with years of courtroom experience representing families in complex and high-conflict matters, mediation, and federal trials. I previously served as a municipal court judge, presiding over diverse dockets including family violence and juvenile cases. My background combines judicial experience, trial advocacy, and community engagement, preparing me to manage a busy docket with fairness, patience, and sound judgment while treating every person with dignity and respect.
I am committed to judicial independence and ethical decision-making. If elected, I will decide every case based solely on the law and the facts, not on politics, public opinion, or campaign support. I will follow the Texas Code of Judicial Conduct, disclose and recuse when required, and maintain clear boundaries between my campaign and my courtroom. Impartiality and integrity are essential to public trust, and I will uphold both without exception.
Improving access to justice requires courts that are understandable, accessible, and fair. Judges can use plain language, ensure language access and disability accommodations, and manage cases so self-represented litigants have a meaningful opportunity to be heard without compromising neutrality. Thoughtful scheduling, consistent procedures, and referrals to legal aid, mediation, and community resources also help ensure that justice is not limited by income, language, or status (socioeconomic or otherwise).
One of the most pressing challenges facing the courts is maintaining fairness and public trust while managing heavy caseloads and, with the increase cost of litigation, a growing number of self-represented litigants. This is especially true in family court where the stress can be insurmountable. Judges can address this by having reliable, organized courtrooms, using plain language, ensuring access to interpreters and accommodations, and managing cases efficiently without sacrificing due process or dignity. Courts work best when they are fair, understandable, and consistent.
My judicial philosophy is rooted in fairness, impartiality, and respect for the rule of law. I believe judges must apply the law as written, decide cases based on the facts, and remain independent from political or personal influence. At the same time, judges should manage courtrooms with clarity, consistency, and dignity, ensuring every person has a meaningful opportunity to be heard. Justice must be both lawful and humane.
Occupation Dallas County Associate Judge
Education Juris Doctorate - Texas Wesleyan University now Texas A&M
I have more than 21 years of exclusive family law experience and am board certified in family law and child welfare law. I currently serve as an associate judge in Dallas County, presiding over a full docket that includes family law matters and child protection cases. My training includes courtroom management, evidentiary rulings, and issuing timely written decisions. I bring a prepared, patient, and respectful approach to the bench, with a strong commitment to due process and fairness.
Impartiality is essential to the judicial role. I decide cases based on the law, the facts presented, and the applicable rules of procedure and evidence. I follow the Texas Code of Judicial Conduct, avoid improper communications, and recuse when required. Campaign activity and campaign contributors have no role in judicial decision-making. Maintaining public trust requires independence, consistency, and adherence to established ethical standards.
Access to justice improves when courts are understandable, efficient, and respectful. This includes clear explanations of procedures, consistent application of the law, and timely case resolution. Courts can also support access by providing language access services, reasonable accommodations for disabilities, and a courtroom environment where all parties are treated with dignity and fairness.
One of the most pressing challenges facing courts today is balancing increasing caseloads with the public’s expectation of timely and fair resolution. Addressing this requires effective case management, consistent application of the law, and efficient use of judicial resources. Courts must resolve cases promptly while ensuring each matter receives careful consideration and due process.
My judicial philosophy is grounded in fairness, impartiality, and respect for the rule of law. A judge must listen carefully, apply the law as written, and decide cases based on the facts presented. I believe the courtroom should be a place where the process is transparent, predictable, and respectful, and where every participant is treated with dignity.
