I hold a BSN & MSN from WTAMU & a DNP from UT - Houston. I am a licensed EMT, RN, & APRN with National Board Certifications as a Family NP, a Psychiatric NP, and a Certified RHC Professional. I serve as Dean of CONHS at WTAMU, leading a team of more than 50 educators training the next generation of health professionals. As an entrepreneur, I founded Panhandle Family Care - a network of clinics providing underserved areas with primary & behavioral healthcare services. My governance experience begins locally (BSA Health System, NWTHS ACO, Harrington C&HF, Bushland ISD) and extends across Tx with demonstrated leadership roles (Tx Deans & Directors, TARHC, NWTSBDC Region 1 advisory board, & the Lt. Gov. Health Advisory board) for over 20 years.
The job of a State Representative is to listen to the people of the district, represent them in Austin, and deliver results through legislation, budget decisions, and oversight. It includes serving on committees, working across the House and Senate, and partnering with statewide leaders to move priorities from ideas to law. The work operates within the structure of the Texas Constitution, the committee process, and the session calendar, with a large share of progress driven through relationships and coalition building. I have spent years building relationships and working at the legislative level, including invited, expert testimony before the Texas Senate & House committees of Public Health, Business & Commerce, Insurance, and Education.
1) Property tax relief & cost of living. I will support long term property tax relief that helps home and business owners keep more of what they earn. I will support responsible budgeting and fiscal policies that respect taxpayers. 2) Keeping Texans safe. I will support strong border security, back law enforcement and first responders, and vote for policies that protect families and communities across the Tx Panhandle. 3)Jobs & economy. I will support pro-growth policies that keep Tx competitive, protect property rights, and help businesses flourish. When I see a problem, I don't grab a mic to complain, I go to work on a solution. I have built my career by listening first, building support, and delivering solid, impactful solutions.
Economic development in the Panhandle grows out of practical leadership: supporting employers, protecting property rights, expanding workforce pipelines, and keeping communities attractive places to build and invest. I bring experience from both sides of the equation: as a small business owner who has built businesses and created jobs, and as a academic leader who directs the education and training for the workforce that employers depend on. My approach to governance is hands-on and collaborative, shaped by years of service where outcomes matter, budgets matter, and people expect competence and follow-through. I will accomplish this vision through hard work, continuous communication and collaboration, and a mutual respect for others.
