As both a US Marine and a Deputy US Marshal ( for over 20yrs). Both of these positions have helped to anchor the morals, integrity and values that are needed to serve in this position.
100% photo id verification. Issued by the state of Texas verifying citizenship and residence. I also have a plan for instilling a fingerprint verification system which will work much like identifying criminal background. It will verify citizenship, ineligible felons and whether someone has already voted.
The state government should not be able to mandate vaccines or vaccinations. That is an individual right that is guaranteed under our freedoms and should be decided by each individual as to what they believe is best for themselves or their children. Furthermore it should be illegal for state legislatures to accept money from medical PACTS or pharmaceutical companies.
I am unaware of any legislation that prohibits these things. I would work to encourage these communities to negotiate with companies that might be interested in coming to their communities by offering incentives that are beneficial to both parties and promote growth and economic development.
I live in an area that is surrounded by wind turbines and solar farms. Often, these turbines and farms shut down when the power grid is full. I would work to expand the power grid and build resources that would give lower electricity rates to surrounding communities when the main grid can’t handle the incoming electrical flow by diverting this power to these communities.
I would work to make sure our existing water resources are cleaned out when they are at their lowest and made to retain the maximum amount of water possible. I would also work to develop programs to build new reservoirs across the state and work on water runoff areas to assist in absorption to help maintain our underground aquifers.
I would encourage and support legislation that helps to improve our state education system as well as supporting our home school education system. I would assist in finding ways to fund higher teacher salaries and programs that will help to develop Texas youth such as vocational studies, technical trade studies and dual credit programs.
