I am guided by biblical values. Through years of community involvement, and 5 terms in the House, I have gained an in-depth understanding in how to my constituency and community in a meaningful way.
One of the most important core functions of our government is to provide public safety for our citizens. In the past several sessions, the Texas Legislature made historic investments for border security and I am determined to continue to work with law enforcement to ensure that the resources are available to them to combat illegal immigration and keep our communities safe.
As a former school board member and advocate for our local public schools, I am committed to providing every child in Texas with a world-class education. We must keep local education decisions local, keep our classrooms safe, and allow parents a voice in their child's education. I am proud of our work including the largest public education investment in Texas history and school safety funding.
Protecting the unborn has always been one of my top priorities, and I remain committed in the fight to always stand for life.

Last session I was a proud cosponsor of the largest election reform bill in recent history to ensure the integrity of Texas’ elections. I look forward to building upon that work to ensure that it is easy to vote and hard to cheat in Texas elections.
