I have lived, worked, and studied in different states in the U.S. Real world experience provided me with unique insight into different ways of life and industries. Faced and overcome adversity.
Places to vote should be promoted and made easily accessible to voters. Voting equipment should be manufactured by an American, and preferably a Texas based company.
The state government should promote its parks and encourage people to participate in healthy activities. For example, If a child has access to a safe and engaging park, it is my belief they will opt to play and exercise at a park with friends versus choosing a sedentary activity. Teaching this at an early age can shape a lifestyle.
I would propose legislation that provides and protects meaningful jobs. Disincentivize a "gig-economy." Attempt a root cause analysis of what is causing communities to be left behind. The issue may be different for different communities. I aim to challenge the "right to work" legislation and strengthen Local labor unions.
I feel Texas must first confront the reality of special interest groups and lobbing efforts . I support wind, solar, alternative fueling (Hydrogen), and even oil and gas. Technologies work and should be implemented for the greater good. If industries are left unchecked, history shows, the temptation for short sighted profits is too great often at the expense of the people and environment.
Propose legislation to invest in a long term state sponsored desalinization project. This would provide numerous jobs and offer support for our reserve and offer a limitless potential reserve in a severe unexpected water crisis. If achieved this will strengthen Texas as a leader in innovation and utility.
Support teachers, staff and admin. Invest in public schools and make them a place people want to send their children. Too often, I hear sad stories about issues in our school system. A reoccurring theme you will hear from me is "root cause analysis." Find the root cause of issues and address them. Each community has different needs.
As a practicing Ob/Gyn in the Rio Grande Valley, I have seen the effects of limited access to health care that currently affects rural communities, and the chaos caused by current border policies.
Community intimidation by ICE must stop. There must be limitations and increased transparency to PAC contributions just as is required for an individual candidate. Registration to vote should not require a prolonged waiting period before an election. There should be very limited or no police presence at polling sites.
Texas should continue expanded Medicaid coverage and should use federal monies to ensure that all Texans have some form of health insurance. State government should focus efforts on rural access to health care such as subsidizing clinics and services in areas of low population density. The state should encourage providers to work in rural areas using incentives such as student loan forgiveness.
I would support incentives that provide infrastructure support for companies that provide jobs in rural areas in ways that improve local communities. For example this would include state supported infrastructure for housing, improvement of local services such as grocery stores, health clinics and banks. I support increased resources for public schools to make these areas desirable places to live.
I would halt any future construction of data centers or bitcoin mining centers until a thorough evaluation of the impact on the energy grid can be performed. I support initiatives to require any new construction to occur in an energy efficient manner. I support clean energy tax incentives such as tax credits for solar panal installation on residential units.
Local water conservation boards must be given more power to control groundwater extraction and usage. Current data centers and bitcoin mining centers should be evaluated to determine if their impact on the water supply justifies their current demands. New residential and commercial construction should be given incentives to include rainwater harvesting systems.
I support eliminating the current Voucher system. The state should supplement public education in areas with low tax revenues from property taxes. Texas should support programs in all schools that aim to develop ways to incorporate technology with the learning process while maintaining healthy social development for children. Texas should prioritize school safety on all campuses.
7th gen Milam County resident with family here since 1881. Experience from journeyman pipefitter to managing efficiency projects on 5 continents. Focused on solving problems and serving constituents.
Every eligible Texan should vote easily and securely. I support adequate polling locations in rural areas, early voting options for working families, and transparent vote counting. Election workers are our neighbors doing their civic duty - they deserve protection from harassment. Security and access aren't opposites. Trust requires systems that are both secure and fair to all eligible voters.
Rural Texans face hospital closures and doctor shortages. I support expanding telemedicine and nurse practitioners, stabilizing rural hospitals through state support, and requiring transparent pricing. Healthcare costs burden working families. I'll study what works elsewhere and focus on practical solutions that improve access and affordability without letting ideology block progress.
Infrastructure creates jobs: fix roads, modernize water systems, expand broadwater. Support local entrepreneurs by reducing barriers and streamlining permitting. Workforce training must match employer needs. Leverage our location near Austin and highways. Build foundations that help our communities prosper and small towns thrive, not tax breaks for corporations.
Grid reliability requires diverse energy sources and modernized infrastructure. With my technical background managing industrial systems globally, I know we need practical planning. Data centers strain our grid and water while raising family costs. Large users must fund their infrastructure impact. Continue oil/gas, renewables. Energy policy serves Texans first: affordable power, reliable service.
Better infrastructure addresses drought and flooding and should balance rural, agricultural, and urban needs. Invest in storage, modernize distribution, reduce losses. Support efficient irrigation. Projects like Austin's ASR in Bastrop show we need updated water law - while some regional projects benefit the whole state, host communities deserve fair compensation for the risks incurred.
Rural schools are community anchors. I oppose vouchers draining public funding - they make schooling pay-to-play and widen inequality. Invest in efficiency: use technology to modernize curriculum, reduce costs, prepare students for future jobs. Retain quality teachers with competitive pay. Quality public education for all strengthens Texas long-term.
