My extensive background in public service, education, and community organizations includes:
- Supervisor, Town of Irondequoit: 4 years (2006–2009)
- East Irondequoit School Board: 9 years ( 2 yrs Board President)
- Irondequoit Volunteer Ambulance: 7 years ( 3 years as President)
- Healthcare Experience: 40 years total, including 30 years as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant by JCAHPO
My goal - to deliver a town government genuinely dedicated to public service—focusing on real progress, not just promises!
I believe I am the only person on the ballot that has experienced a win, a reelection win and a loss as Town Supervisor.
My first priority would be to provide open, transparent and respectful Town Board Meetings. Residents deserve information and solutions from their Town Board. Discussion should be held during meetings by Town Board members. Currently information regarding the meeting agenda and other information is presented a day or two on the website for review. Secondly, I would prepare and share a comprehensive budget document. Past years information needs to be included so comparison with the current years budget. This would facilitate Town Board Members and the community should understand be informed regarding the budget. Justification for over runs and surplus need to be discussed to ensure fiscal solvency. My third priority would be to aggressively apply for Storm Water Resiliency Grants through NYS, the Honeoye Falls Watershed DEC Grants and other opportunities that would provide improved services, not only with Storm Water but other Town issues, without raising the Tax Rate.
I would develop, actively manage and include every property in a Storm Water Mitigation Town Wide Plan. Including community members, Engineers, DEC and our Town Public Works Superintendent. Flooding has gone on for years with damage to Town Property and residential homes and green spaces. Not everything can be corrected in one or two years but over time the issue of Storm Water Damage can be addressed by location and severity. This will allow to spend targeted fund on the worst areas first. This would also include funding available from the State and other partners to make Rush a little safer from damaging storm events.
Rush is a Residential Farming Community with a recently updated Comprehensive Master Plan worked on by the Town Residents, Town Board and Labella Engineers. I have worked with Labella before and know they provide a quality work product. I would continue the conversation when issue arise (Data Centers and Solar Panels) are on the minds of our residents now. There may be other items as well that fall under our Zoning Code. Open, transparent and accountable leadership in these and every aspect of Town Government is key to successful review and planning for every project.
