Experience with evaluating data and making decisions based on evidence, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication
We have had a steady stream of polarizing issues brought to the school board over the past several years. This has led to significant division within our community. I think that healing this division is the most important thing to be done. As a school director, I will treat all members of our community with respect, hear the concerns and opinions of individuals, and communicate with openness and honesty. Together as a united PV community, we can overcome any challenge.
For most of my career, I have been employed by companies that contract with hospitals to provide clinical nutrition and food services. It is imperative that I utilize the hospitals' resources judiciously and remain within budgetary allocations while still providing the highest level of service. This is the financial stewardship that is also required of a school director.
Through years of being a parent volunteer in the schools and as a coach with a youth athletic organization, I have been privileged to watch so many PV students grow into amazing individuals. At this time, the most effective way for me to continue to serve these exceptional kids is to be a voice representing them on the school board. I will ensure that the best interest of the students remains at the forefront of the decision-making of the board.

Father, Resident, 30+ years business prioritization experience
Our district faces crushing taxes far exceeding many neighboring districts. Some homeowners don't realize they contribute $ thousands ($10,000+ in many cases) annually to the school district. At the same time, student academic outcomes declined markedly going from 9th in the state in 2018 to 50th last year. Grade 12 average reading level is 9.5 (it should be 12!). We are in a literacy crisis.
I will employ "financial essentialism" to challenge the district to pay for new and needed programs.
With a career in the healthcare industry, I have over 30 years of experience in prioritizing needs, determining "what really matters," and choosing carefully in order to get great results.
I've helped teach leaders how to avoid saying "yes" without really thinking and with very little planning, by asking "what are the trade offs?" "how will this help students/customers?" "what can we eliminate to pay for this program?" instead of raising taxes or the budget. Let's achieve what really matters!
I think of the economic inequalities and the upward mobility potential of students in our community against the results of my own kids in achieving great outcomes, and it draws me strongly to the parable of the well man and poor man.
I have deep experiences and skills that will positively improve our tax posture, while simultaneously improving our students’ academic posture, and thus, their upward mobility. This position is not unpaid; my pay is my service to you. To not help is to do nothing.

Previously served on school board from 2017 to 2021, including 3 years as board President. Self-employed business owner for 25+ years.
Many factors are working to undermine public education systems. From culture war issues to the dismantling of the Dept. of Ed., our educational system is under attack like never before. I, along with the team that I am running with, aim to maintain a strong public educational system and work to nurture an environment where all members of the educational community feel a sense of belonging. Our core values include transparent communication, fiscal responsibility, and responsible decision-making.
I have previously served on the school board from 2017 through 2021, including 3 years as president. I also served on our district's finance committee, and helped to guide the district through several projects, including the major renovation of an elementary school, and navigated the budgetary turmoil that was caused by Covid-19. I also have been a successfully self-employed for over 25 years.
I believe that public education is both the backbone of a strong community and is the foundation of a democratic society. I am passionate about ensuring that students have opportunities to learn and grow in safe and supportive environments and that our staff is prepared to effectively meet academic, mental, and emotional needs of students. As the proud parent of four PV graduates, I want to give back and serve this amazing community.

I believe our district is facing a serious financial challenge that requires immediate and strategic action. We are on the verge of a budget crisis, and it’s critical that we take steps to reduce waste—particularly within the District Office. While the administrative structure has expanded significantly over the years, our student population has declined. This disconnect demands a thorough reevaluation. We must prioritize efficiency, streamline operations, and ensure that every dollar is focused
I have served as a School Director for the past 4 years, during which I’ve been actively involved in the district’s budgeting process. Additionally, I’ve held roles on various boards and committees that managed budgets—though none as complex or large-scale as that of a public school district. These experiences have given me a solid foundation in financial oversight and responsible fiscal planning.
If re-elected, I want to continue fostering a spirit of volunteerism and civic engagement. I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by mentors who gave generously of their time, and that had a lasting impact on me. My goal is to inspire future leaders to understand the value of being present, being involved, and giving back to the community in meaningful ways.

Experienced operations leader and executive in the healthcare industry. Clinical consultant and liaison for operations and clinical policy.
The key challenges facing our school district is the uncertainty that policy changes and threats of the federal government pose to public education. The threats to funding and inclusive and anti-discriminatory policy are particularly concerning. As a school board director, I will address these threats by knowing the law and advocating for the truth and the law to protect our public education and children. The culture war distractions will be mitigated as our vision is focused on education.
As the Vice President of Patient Care Services at Grand View Hospital I was responsible for $150 million annual budget and 24 cost centers. Fiscal stewardship was essential to my work. Cost control was essential while maintaining high quality care for my patients and healthy work environments for my staff. Healthcare is one of the most underfunded industries, knowing evidence-based information and data was key to advocating for all financial decisions and appropriate resource allocation.
In the current environment of turmoil and threats, I believe I must do something. When the opportunity to serve on the school board came up, I believed it would be a good use of my skills and time. I am still working, my kids are grown, and successful products of my school district and I would like to ensure the school district remains excellent and healthy for the generations to come. I have more time than I did a few years ago, I am happy to volunteer my time for this purposeful role.

Key challenges facing the district is the uncertainty of the department of education. While I can’t control the federal level, I can make sure locally our district is safe from the rocky climate by making sure our district continues to invest into the programs that make it successful.
My degree is in business management. Budgeting for business is essential for the success of the operation. I also have experience in facilities management. In this role we had to stay in budget but still provide key services to maintain building operations.
I decided to run because of my 3 children who are in PV. I didn’t want to sit back and watch when I can get involved and do! It’s important to have representation on the board of members in the community whose kids are actively enrolled in the district.
