I decided to run for Town Council because I want to have a more balanced town council with independent members that reflect the entire community. My top three priorities would be to continue to shepherd the town through the COVID pandemic by listening to what people need and seeing how the council can address those needs. My second priority would be to ensure smart growth so that we have affordable housing for all community members. This is the hope that the community has expressed through the new comprehensive plan and I would work to support ordinances and policy changes to support that plan. Finally, I would support our schools by ensuring that they continue to be properly funded.
As mother to two young children, one who has special needs, I believe that if I am placed on the council I will fill a gap, bring fresh perspective, new energy and the ability to champion children and families in a way that is different from our current council members. Furthermore, as a consensus builder, I am experienced and adept at working with people from a variety of backgrounds, with viewpoints that are different from my own and in a way that is able to make real progress.
