Raise the minimum wage, use rent control to push down rents, eviction moratorium. These will help folks endure. Then empower folks such as workers and renters to act collectively to gain more control over their lives. Do this through supporting and encouraging tenant and labor unions, worker and housing co-operatives. Also by giving them more to work with such as through requiring landlords and business owners to disclose how much profit they make off of their tenants and workers.
I have lived in Bath my entire life and I am now raising my two young boys here as well. I graduated from Morse, work at Bath Shaw's, support the folks who were striking at BIW, and love this town. I will always take the side of the workers over the bosses, the homeowners over the banks, the people over the powerful. That's my commitment to you.
As a City Councilor, I will focus on strengthening our community by: supporting our small businesses; ensuring sensible zoning ordinances that enable economic prosperity and equity while honoring the character of our community; protecting open spaces and farmland; increasing housing access for families; and strengthening public transport. I believe that all people deserve the opportunity for a healthy home in Bath, surrounded by neighbors they value as much as I value my own.
My small business experience and my jobs with a local land trust and food council involve connecting people and communities to Maine food, and supporting our farms and fishermen. To do this requires listening and learning from people, and engaging small business owners about what hurts and helps their businesses. This work involves understanding problems, and working with others to create solutions.

I will approach my work as a City Councilor the same way, by working with community members, my fellow councillors and city employees to solve problems and by being proactive in my leadership.
