Town of Nucla Ballot Issue 2B
Shall the town of Nucla taxes be increased $5,000 for the first full fiscal year (2021) and annually thereafter by such amounts as may be generated from the levy of a lodging occupation tax at the rate of $2.00 per night per occupied lodging room paid for by the leasing, rental or furnishing of any short term (less than 30 consecutive days) lodging services in the town, for the purpose of generating funds to promote tourism, economic development, and community beautification within the town; and shall the funds collected from such tax be held in a fund separate from the town's general fund and used exclusively for the purpose of promoting tourism, economic development, and community beautification; and shall an advisory board be established, which members shall be appointed by the town board of trustees, to make recommendations to the trustees concerning the specific use of the lodging occupation tax revenues consistent with the foregoing purposes; and shall the town be authorized to collect, retain and spend such lodging occupation tax revenues each year, including investment earnings and interest on such revenues, as a voter approved revenue change under article x, section 20 of the Colorado Constitution or any other law?
