I consider the top priorities in the municipal budget to be means of lowering the high taxes we are facing. This can be done by bringing more businesses into the Borough and getting the residents/voters involved and let their voices be heard. I would like to see money in the budget to provide transportation services for our seniors to and from grocery shopping, etc.
I find the most important issue facing the Borough, other than high taxes, is lack of communication and working together. As a small community we should be able to come together to share our concerns and ideas. Therefore, I would encourage residents/voters to attend meetings to have their voices heard and ideas submitted.
I find it feasible to share emergency transportation services with other communities, but not our police department. We are a small community and I find it necessary to have our very own police protection.
I would promote growth and bring in businesses by advertising. This could be done by local newspapers, billboards, the media, public service announcements and even word of mouth. This would be another means of getting everyone involved. No idea is too small.
