I deeply believe that every Missourian should have access to a good job, a safe community, affordable health care, and a great public education for their children.

As a teacher, I saw first-hand the problems challenging teachers, students, and staff. Frequently, I found that my students' basic needs went unmet and that our school lacked needed resources. My experience as a teacher informed by decision to run for office, and my greatest commitment as a public servant is to advocate for kids.

Affordable health care remains another priority. I believe that an unexpected trip to the emergency room should not result in crippling debt, and one should not be denied access to affordable care based on income or a pre-existing condition. Among many proposals, I've sponsored legislation to cap the cost of insulin and make prescription drugs more affordable.
To set students up for success, we must prioritize investments in early childhood education and universal pre-K in Missouri, recruitment and retention of high-quality educators, a focus on early literacy, and student-centered instruction that excites students’ curiosities and passions.

To improve the accessibility and affordability of health care, I will continue to fight to successfully implement and fund Medicaid expansion and improve access to care for those that need it, including access to primary care, and battle the opioid drug crisis.

We must rebuild Missouri’s economy, making it a modern economy that supports good-paying jobs, funds infrastructure projects that create jobs, makes college and vocational schools affordable, and puts investing in people, not corporations, first.
