Position/philosophy statement I believe in freedom! Freedom to live, work and even to fail. Government should not do for a man what a man should do for himself. Protect the constitu
Adequately dealing with residential growth in rural areas and the resulting impacts on our infrastructure. We have finite water/sewer capacity and we must reserve for commercial/industrial growth to provide jobs for our citizens. The existing board has recently taken steps to slow density in rural areas and undertaking a comprehensive land use study to formulate long-term land use plan to preserve character of our open spaces and drive density to towns.
I do not know of any law to provide equality to all citizens that has not been passed already. My daddy taught me to respect all persons and treat everyone fairly. Many of the well-intentioned people pushing radical organizations (such as BLM, Inc) don’t realize that that organization is bent on undoing our constitution and America as we know it. I believe all humankind matters and all deserve freedom to pursue their dreams. In the past the county has enacted policy to filter new proposals to gauge impact on aged citizens. I would support same analysis to gauge impact of established Reg’s or procedures on all racial or ethnic groups.

The county has had excellent economic success in the past 6 to 8 years. The county desperately needs greater access to natural gas, which is a basic requirement for many industries looking to locate or expand in JoCo. Our incentive grant program insures that the county is never left holding the bag if an industry fails to follow thru on plans and promises. The county also need more “certified sites” and some incubator building for industrial occupancy. We need to ensure that adequate water and sewer capacity is available to support economic growth. The county has a long range capital improvement plan to that end.
I enjoy the great outdoors more than most people. I am an archery hunter and a serious cyclist. I see the climate changing right before our eyes. It has changed before and it will likely change in the future. Whatever each individual can do to be good stewards of God’s nature is important. I do not believe that man’s activities causes this. One volcanic “burp” can spew more carbon into the atmosphere than man can even imagine. I would support measures to clean our rivers and streams and help control trash. I do not subscribe to the left’s agenda on climate change.

Position/philosophy statement I believe in the people of Johnston County I believe in equality and human rights. I I believe in safety, livable wages, and the rights of all people.
Johnston county is facing major growth without a plan which would expand the inequalities already existing in our county.
As a long-time advocate for equality I believe that we must equalizer the playing field and by following the lead of other counties we can serve all people with decency and respect.

First we must take care of our employees and give them a safe place to work. Then we must do out reach to our community so that we get involvement from nonprofit organizations including our religious organizations so that no child or senior falls behind.
I believe that our government should work with local mom and pops as well as big corporations to bring quality livable wage to our community. I believe we must strongly work with our education system to prepare our students to be the leaders for tomorrow. I also think that we need a public transportation system so that people who want to get a job can get to work.
As a candidate who believes in the new green deal I believe that we as good Stewart’s must set the bar high. I believe that Johnston county can go green within the window of opportunity that allows us to save money and resources.
