The upcoming budget will be challenging. I am focused on helping people recover from the pandemic. That means advocating for full revenue sharing to help our towns and homeowners. It also means making sure our elderly, at-risk children, small businesses, those with physical or mental health issues do not suffer more. We need to focus on helping our people.
1. Revenue sharing and assistance for our towns to keep down property taxes. 2. Health care: Improving access and availability of affordable physical and mental health services. This includes addressing racial and rural disparities. 3. Education: Funding for education is even more important now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We need to make sure that schools, teachers, students and families have the resources they need.
In the past we have had forums in the Waterville area. I hope to do so again. I also have had monthly constituent hours at a local coffee shop. I also meet with people who ask to discuss an issue or groups that have some sort of public forum. How I do these things is changing due to the pandemic. So far, I have been meeting with people outside, but as we move into the colder months, we may need to switch over to online meetings.
I will advocate for the full restoration of revenue sharing. In addition I am looking at
