Maine’s greatest challenge at the moment is managing the Covid-19, protecting the health and safety of our people while sustaining as much of our economy as possible. Soon our greatest challenge will be recovering from the pandemic. We also face additional challenges: pervasive pollution, persistent poverty, disabling addiction, chronic underemployment, technological disruption, political dysfunction, and soaring costs for health care and education.
My top three priorities are good government, universal health care, and clean energy.
I am writing and will be distributing a citizen’s handbook. My campaign will organize and participate in candidate forums. Once elected, I will continue to organize and host issue forums, write a constituent email newsletter, maintain an informative web site, host coffee hours (to the extent possible in a post-Covid-19 world) and post on social media.
I will advocate for a broad range of economic stimulus for families and small businesses, and secure sufficient funding for municipal government. In addition, I will update regulations to ensure that businesses, new and old, can provide services and sell goods in new ways that are necessary to prevent the transmission of coronavirus. Finally, I will work to expand diagnostic testing so that our healthcare providers can expeditiously identify, isolate and treat cases of infectious disease in our communities.
