Covid-19 recovery and the devastating effects it has had on Maine small business.
The toughest challenge before the 130th Legislature is balancing the state budget. With a massive decrease in revenue those programs that were a campaign promise from Governor Mills, just cannot be funded. We will have to tighten our belts and create a budget that is balanced, fiscally responsible and concentrates on getting the Maine citizens back to a economic lifestyle before the pandemic. After that, we can concentrate on growth. Last year, the democratic control Legislative introduced a record number of bills and rubber stamped most of them. This led to runaway spending.

I believe in every Mainer's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I am a strong proponent of the 2nd Amendment, and all other rights granted by the Constitution. As Representative, I will support legislation that protects those rights.

Other major platform issues are medical civil liberties, school choice, Voter ID, Internet Broadband expansion, Veteran's rights and protection.

Civic engagement has been on the decline for many years. With busy lives and schedules, I don't believe you will see increased volunteerism. The engagement will come via a robust social media platform, my Representative web sites and email. This is how people get there information now a days. I believe spending as much time in the community and getting out to those public events, school sporting events, fairs, festivals and ceremonies are critical. My constituents need to see me, know me to build that trust. I will hold informational sessions and town halls that constituents can attend, they will be live streamed with the ability to ask questions. This allows people at home who can't make it due to schedules or physical barriers to stay informed and take part.
Economic recover in Saco due to the Covid-19 pandemic is my biggest priority and concern. The corona-virus outbreak has shown us all just how valuable every dollar is. People are struggling to make ends meet, pay their bills, feed their families, take care of loved ones, and they just don’t have the money to pay higher taxes to make up for all the budget short falls. We must focus on rebuilding the State economy and creating jobs in Saco. We must advocate and entice business to come to Saco. This loosens the tax burden on home owners, and increases revenues going to Augusta. The biggest upcoming concern are parents of school aged children and if learning from home continues. Many of these parents are 2 income families. When one parent cannot work or has reduced hours, there paycheck and overall family income will suffer. Some may be given that ultimatum of keeping there job. Returning to school is very important but it needs to be sensible.
