One of our greatest challenges is making sure our residents can afford to support themselves and their families, particularly with the cost of health care, housing, and college education.
1.) Create a universal single payer health care system for all Maine residents.
2.) Make sure wealthy individuals and corporations pay their fair share in taxes.
3.) Create free tuition for all Maine residents at our state universities and community colleges.
I support automatic voter registration, keeping all neighborhood polling places open (not consolidating), ranked-choice voting, and national popular vote. I support removing some of the barriers to placing issues on the ballot and oppose new barriers from being enacted. I have held several town hall meetings since being elected and will continue to hold more in the future.
We need to continue to support individuals and families who have been out of work for the last several weeks.
I also support relief for businesses that have been impacted the most, particularly small locally-owned businesses.
