The greatest challenge facing the state and nation is unity. United we stand. United we can dream of and create a better future for all. Divided, we will continue to suffer. In Maine, we need to put our very best effort into healing the economic, social, racial, religious and political divides that separate us.
My priority is to bring greater economic prosperity to rural Maine. Studies of successful economies indicate that key factors include investments in 1) education, 2) infrastructure, and 3) health care. A well-educated workforce will attract employers and strengthen those already here. Infrastructure, including broadband access, as well as roads and highways is necessary for the transport of goods and services. Affordable medical services help ensure a healthy workforce.

Government needs to be accountable to the people it serves. I will have an open door policy. I will welcome calls, emails, texts, and letters from constituents. But more than that, I will make myself available by holding meetings in every community in my district on a regular basis.

I will support- Property tax relief through increased general revenue sharing; maintaining or increasing the State education share to 55 per cent; a prosperity budget that ensures that working Mainers do not suffer under an unfair tax burden; adequate investments in preventative services that will strengthen future generations; attract and support employers through infrastructure investments; reduce health care costs and increase accessibility, especially to affordable prescription drugs.
