What is your number one priority and why?
How will you address the economic crisis that has resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic?
John Foley was born in Chicago IL, and grew up in Glenview IL. At age 17 he joined the US Marines. He later attended and graduated form Northern Illinois University with a ROTC commission in the US Army. He is an Iraq War veteran and is a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel.
My number #1 goal is safe communities and safe schools. This includes scientifically based pandemic response and support to a robust adherence to vaccines and public health. Also I believe strongly in supporting common sense gun laws, (red flag bills & safe storage laws). These will go a long way in keeping our communities and schools safe.
The economic crisis that has resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, is of historic proportions. I propose looking beyond our consumer based economy towards a post-consumer based economy. Many of the ideas in the Green New Deal are, I believe leading us in the correct direction, and this is a good start. As a middle class voter, I myself firmly that the wealthy do need to pay more in taxes and carry their weight in this recovery. I believe we need maximum support to viable small businesses as part of this recovery. I also favor a return to such Depression Era ideas as work corps similar to the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).

That’s a tough one. Not really sure on that answer. I would need to take a full assessment of the situation then make that determination.
