VOTE411 Voter Guide

Morris Township Committee

Morris Township is governed under the Township form of New Jersey municipal government. The five-member Township Committee is elected directly by the voters at-large in partisan elections to serve three-year terms of office on a staggered basis, with either one or two seats coming up for election each year as part of the November general election in a three-year cycle. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are selected by the Township Committee from among its members at a reorganization held in the first week of January each year.

One of the most important issues facing all cities and towns throughout the world is the effects of Climate change (power outages, storms, etc) and how we can be proactive at the local level to mitigate the risks and dangers. We must explore how we as a community, we as individuals can do our small part to mitigate these effects and reduce our own carbon footprint. We will explore converting the township municipal fleet to electric or biofuels, using renewable energy to power municipal properties, and become a certified green community based on NJ published standards, etc.
I am committed to the notion of continuous improvement for Morris Twp. My background in contract negotiation and project management will be useful to both the township committee and, ultimately, the residents of Morris Twp.
As a member of the Morris Township Committee, I pledge to keep residents informed of all the latest accepted scientific information by acknowledged experts in their various fields that is available to the general public, and to both support and promote our local businesses.
