Biographical Information

What do you consider the most important challenges facing our municipality? How do you intend to address these challenges?

What personal and professional experiences have prepared you for this position?

What, if any, new proposals for local ordinances and/or resolutions do you think are needed, and why?

The State’s Attorney General has directed all county and municipal police agencies to identify discriminatory policies and practices and work to eliminate them. What can our municipality do to promote accountability and non-biased policing in our law enforcement?

What are your short-term and long-term plans to address the budgetary and economic impacts of COVID-19 in our municipality?

In practice, elected officials are motivated to act in ways that sustain them in their office. Sometimes there is conflict between that incentive and the fiduciary interests of the township and its citizens. How would you resolve such a conflict?

Conserving the rural character of our community through continuing preservation of farmland and open spaces, while keeping our low residential taxes. This can be attained by encouraging business activities compatible with East Amwell rural lifestyle.
A mechanical and electrical engineer by training, I ran my own business for over twenty years (20+ employees). I also worked for large corporations in various capacities, lastly as a software executive at a major educational publishing company, from which I retired a few years ago.

My experience at a large corporation and running my own business, prepares me for the challenges of planning, budgeting, finance and--most importantly --working with people from all backgrounds and with all kinds of opinions.
We need ordinances to limit activities that will negatively affect our environment, well water and clean air while not imposing on residents’ property rights.
East Amwell does not have a police department.
Short term, we need to make sure the tax burden is a low as possible, delaying non-critical spending if needed. Longer term, we need to encourage business development compatible with our rural setting to increase our tax base
I am not a politician, and have no political ambition besides bringing a fresh perspective to the Township Committee, and working with all our residents for the common good of our wonderful community. If elected, I commit to not serving more than two terms
