Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners Northern Inside

Pasquotank County is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, elected at-large and from districts in county-wide elections in even numbered years to serve four-year staggered terms. Four members must reside in specified districts, and three members are elected at-large. The Board of Commissioners’ primary duties include: adopting an annual budget; establishing the annual property tax rate; setting policies, goals, and objectives to direct the County’s growth and development;

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: Industry Recruitment to keep our neighbors home, Support Workforce Development and Retrain workers to meet new technology jobs, Certification of the Pasquotank County Industrial Park and Aviation Park, and Support our local businesses : EDUCATION: Support technology advancements for our students, Support STEM education in the Public School and NEATT schools, : HEALTHCARE, Support our Healthcare partner and services our citizens are asking for and keeping them in our county with the best healthcare available : INFRASTURCTURE, Develop and expand our water system, Newland water system, Push to have I 87 from Norfolk VA to Raleigh starting in VA, Land Use Planning.
Meet the schools annual budgetary needs with captial maintance projects and expansions. Provide the schools with revenues to support new technology demands on their teachers and students. Support the continuation of the 1/4 cent sales tax that generates 850,000.00 annually in which helps provide the additional financial resources to our schools without have to raise property taxes to raise additional revenues. Provide funds for School resource officers to make our schools safe.

Hold and maintain the tax rates paid to the county citizens annually. Work with the Elizabeth City City Council, Economic Development, Local Partners to strengthen our local businesses Recuit new industries and creating high paying good jobs. Develop Land Use stratagies for where to place infrastructure as the county. Develop drainge plan Develop a master water and sewer plan planning for future growth

Pasquotank County Social Services supports the citizens of our county residents with the their needs. The County works with the Social Services board making sure we meet the challenges that come to the county both in funded and unfunded mandates.
