A healthy democracy requires active participation from its citizens. We must make it as easy as possible for citizens to safely cast their votes and make their voices heard. Due to the unique circumstances of this election, we must ensure that mail-in voting is protected. This includes providing more secure drop boxes so that voters do not have to travel across their county to cast their ballot.
Our education system has been funded in an unconstitutional manner for decades. This horrible system relies far too heavily on property taxes, making education disparities worse and harming all students. We need to build a new model of education funding from the ground up that ensures schools receive the funds they need to properly educate our children directly from the State of Ohio.
We can and must do better to protect our precious resources. We have an amazing opportunity in our state to create new jobs and protect our environment. We must invest in renewable energy production in our state and position ourselves at the forefront of this developing industry. Additionally, we must continue to enforce emissions standards and protect the community that we call home.
The practice of gerrymandering allows elected officials to choose their voters. This is an attack on our democracy that has gone on for far too long. We must ensure that our districts are drawn in a non-partisan, common-sense way that prioritizes fair representation. I will lead that fight as your next State Representative.
