Circuit Courts are created by the Indiana ConstitutionQualifications: To be eligible to run for state, legislative or local office, a person must be registered to vote in the election district the person seeks to represent. A candidate for the office of judge of a circuit court must reside in the circuit and be admitted to the practice of law in the state upon taking office. Term Limits: 6 year terms with no term limits.Duties: The Circuit Courts have concurrent jurisdiction in all civil cases and in all criminal cases. They also have appellate jurisdiction over appeals from city and town courts.Current Circuit Court Judge Salary: $167,990.23
