What is your number one priority and why?
How will you address the economic crisis that has resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic?
Karl Hanlon grew up in a ranching family in Jackson County raising cattle. Karl is currently the city attorney for Glenwood Springs, the town attorney for Silverthorne and is a partner at the firm Karp Neu Hanlon, P.C. His water law experience includes representing Glenwood Springs and Rifle.
While I had several key issues prioritized when I first began running - from climate change to health care to public lands protection - my overriding priority as a State Senator will be to help working and middle class families through the duration of this pandemic and build an economy that works for everyone, not one where people struggle to get by.
We need to support programs that will create security for the working and middle class families most impacted and burdened by the economic fallout from the pandemic. We need a science-based approach to guiding economic reopening and creating a sustainable environment where we can keep businesses open while at the same time protecting public health.
Veteran, engineer, corporate CEO, small business and non profit. Colorado House of Representatives, Colorado Senate
Economic renewal and the budget. I'm the longest serving member of the Joint Budget Committee and the ranking minority member. I represent rural and western Colorado with it's unique issues of resorts, agriculture and energy economies.
We have severe budgeting issues resulting from a forecast of 25% less revenue in the current year. The budget committee will have a difficult task as it recommends priorities to the legislature. I'll work to return Coloradans to work while using my years of budget experience to find every efficiency in state government allowing priority focus on education, public safety, transportation and care for our most vulnerable citizens.
