The legislature's inability, or refusal, to balance the State's budget was exacerbated by the Governor's lock down of our State, and the Governor's plan to raise taxes is not going to fix Illinois' budget problems.  Illinois, for years, has been depopulating and the number one reason people are fleeing Illinois is taxes.  The State must reduce its spending, and we can begin with all the fraud, waste and abuse in Springfield.
Absolutely not.  The progressive tax will give the legislature the ability to raise taxes on any income level at any time.  In addition, since the legislature cannot get its spending under control, the legislature may begin to tax retirement income.  Seniors on a fixed income cannot afford the Democrat's tax scheme.
I support Fair Map redistricting reform so that an independent commission can draw the maps.
Illinois residents have been able to vote by mail for years; they would request an absentee ballot.  The problem with the current system is ballot applications were mailed to countless individuals without being requested.  I believe this opens the door for potential fraud, and we must have confidence in our election process.
