Serving on the House Budget Committee and the Fiscal Review Committee, have given me a perspective of how all legislation is connected. I believe we need to take a look at the consequences - financial and social - of prior policy decisions that are a drain on our revenue and resources. Then, we need to work together with political groups, state bureaucrats, and citizens to craft policies that direct the resources we have to assure that things like housing, healthcare and education are affordable, and that jobs, recreation and justice are accessible. I approach this by working collaboratively with other stakeholders to build on our experience and past work.
