One of the reasons I'm running for office is because it's become clear to me that our democracy simply doesn't work for everyone, and I want a seat at the table to address issues like corruption and lack of transparency in government; healthcare costs; gun violence; workers rights; and inequality.
My biggest focus, however, is education. As the product of a public school education and stepmom to a 5th grader, I care deeply about supporting public education in my community and across Missouri. I believe we have a responsibility to our children to set them up for success at every opportunity, and we're falling short of that responsibility by constantly cutting education funding and under-paying educators.
As a Democrat running for State House in a legislature with a Republican supermajority, I hope to lean on the power of diplomacy—a lot. In my experience, two-way conversations, empathy, and a willingness to share and learn are the best ways to solve problems and make positive progress with folks who may not agree with you.
I genuinely look forward to building and leveraging new relationships in Jefferson City, and collaborating to address the issues facing Missouri families.

I care deeply about preserving and defending the quality of life we all enjoy in the Northland. We are blessed to live in an area with some of the best schools in Missouri, an expansive park system, a first rate hospital, low crime rate, well established highways, first class shopping and thousands of friendly people. This is a great place to raise a family. My two sons graduated from Park Hill High School and had a rich experience with many activities they were involved in. My wife is an ICU Nurse at St. Luke's Hospital. We enjoy our church and all those who attend. There is so much to be thankful for and appreciate in this area. It's time to keep all this in perspective and realize we must defend our quality of life or we could lose it.
There is a tremendous amount of responsibility of serving in the state government. The average citizen can hear a sound bite on he news but may not have the time to research and analyze the consequences and effects. The people's representatives must dedicate their time to understanding al the details, and not be swayed by special interest groups and the soundbites of the nightly news. A guiding principle I was taught years ago is to do the "harder right rather than the easier wrong."
