Education is top of my list, not only because I have 44 years of experience, but also because COVID-19 has greatly affected how we educate. Schools are now required to offer online classes at all grade levels and still hold in-class sessions. Classrooms and lesson plans teachers had worked on for hours, weeks, months, and even years to organize were suddenly unusable. Even though teachers are expected to think on their feet, be flexible, extremely adaptable to change and highly creative this has been the biggest educational challenge of the 21st century! I plan to do all within my power to help them and offer their students an excellent education.
The most current challenge facing our state is how we move forward during and after a pandemic. What we put into place now will build our tomorrows. The best way to approach rebuilding Missouri's economy, public safety, health care, education, senior care, agriculture and so much more is to communicate with those in the field. As state representative, I will bring the creative ideas and any concerns from my district to the floor of the house. Team effort using state resources will be the best way to get us all back on our feet quickly.
