Fairfield Township Advisory Board {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

The township trustee is assisted by a Township Board whose members are elected to four year terms. Duties of the board include adopting the annual budget, serving as a board of finance and approving township contracts. In January of each year, the trustee presents to the board an annual report showing the receipts, expenditures, investments and debts of the township. The township board is also able to authorize a tax levy rate necessary to generate the amount the township board determines is needed for township functions.

I bring a fresh perspective and a strong commitment to serving our community. I’m focused on practical solutions, like tenant rights seminars, to empower residents with knowledge and protect their stability. I value accountability and accessibility, and I’m committed to listening and responding to the people I represent.
Many in the township are experiencing housing issues or even rights violations without fully understanding their protections. This lack of awareness leaves people vulnerable and limits their ability to advocate for themselves. I would address this by organizing tenant rights seminars and partnering with local organizations to provide clear, accessible information on leases, protections, and available resources. By empowering residents with knowledge, we can strengthen housing stability and build a more informed, resilient community.
I will try make relief services more accessible, transparent, and proactive by clearly communicating available resources. However, it is the county government that allows us to raise more money, which could improve services. I will advocate on behalf of the community to the appropriate bodies to push for best outcomes.

I have over 40 years of working on Boards and for Boards. I care deeply about the issues of food security, affordable housing and living wages. I can assist in building consensus. I am a proponent of compassion and good governance.
Township government is in flux right now as townships assess the impact of state legislation for reorganization. Fairfield township is healthy administratively and fiscally so should move through the political climate well. I have been involved in many transitions so that should be helpful during these times of change.
I will support innovative and collaborative ventures identified by the trustee and bring new ideas to the Board table for consideration. I am impressed by the many actions to bring agencies to the table by the current trustee and I look forward to expanding those offerings with a new trustee.

I've managed budgets and investments, both are centrsl to the role of the township board. In my first term on the board I urged the board to move rainy day funds to higher interest bearing accounts which provided significant benefit to our bottom line.
The state is throttling property tax revenue to local government units. Fairfield Township will need to be more efficient to maintain our level of service. I will pursue opportunities to reduce administrative overhead while maximizing benefit to our community.
Fairfield Township is home to the highest density of SNAP eligible households in Tippecanoe County. We have prioritized providing assistance as our constituents have faced the economic burden of food, housing and utility price increases. I will continue to advocate at that statehouse for lower utility costs. I will promote partnerships with local agencies to provide cost effective assistance to the greatest number households.
