The township trustee is assisted by a Township Board whose members are elected to four year terms. Duties of the board include adopting the annual budget, serving as a board of finance and approving township contracts. In January of each year, the trustee presents to the board an annual report showing the receipts, expenditures, investments and debts of the township. The township board is also able to authorize a tax levy rate necessary to generate the amount the township board determines is needed for township functions.

Experience in Leadership and Management
I have served in leadership roles in the fire service as well as Emergency Medical Services. I am a retired Air Force Reservist where I served in different leadership roles thoughout my 22-year career.
I believe in being open to new ideas other points of view. In township government, I believe being open-minded is an important quality. This allows a board member to solicit information from the public and make the best choices for the residents. I believe this is a strong quality that I have.
The biggest challenge facing township government is the legislation that is proposing consolidation or elimination of certain townships. Perry Township is on the list due to not having its own fire department and limited requests for township assistance. If consolidation occurs, the residents of Perry Township will need to be a priority in how that consolidation occurs so that their voices continue to be heard.
I believe that Perry Township needs to have an active social media campaign and publicly accessible website. This will allow the township to promote that assistance is available and make it easier for residents to seek out help that they may need.
