In 2004, my family opened Skylight Coffeehouse in downtown Lafayette, embracing the challenges and rewards of small business ownership. For six years, we served the community and helped energize the downtown district. For 3 years I was the general Manager as my husband stepped back into retail. That experience deepened my connection to the pulse of Tippecanoe County.
My commitment to service led me into local government, where I began in Voter Registration and later the Assessor’s Office. I spent the remainder of my career there, earning a reputation for integrity, diligence, and fairness before retiring in 2023.
The Clerk's Office will require a combination of lifelong skills that I have learned and applied throughout my employment career
In a nutshell, The Clerk of the Court manages court records, processes case filings, collects fees and fines and handles marriage certificates as well as divorce decrees and maintains public access to legal records. They also sit on the Board of Elections and oversee the Voter Registration Office. As a liaison between the court and the public, they ensure transparency and access to essential information.
Why isn’t voting expanding at the same pace our county is growing? Since 2010, Tippecanoe County has added roughly 1,400 new residents every year. We’re now the eighth‑largest county in Indiana. Our area has historically grown at about 0.35% annually, but since the last census that rate has risen to 2.11% overall—about 0.42% per year. That’s rapid growth, with no sign it’s slowing down.
When a community grows this quickly, our government should keep up. Long lines on Election Day and a shrinking number of early voting locations don’t ease the strain on voters or support busy schedules of working families. Expanding voting isn’t optional, it’s a necessary step to ensure access, reduce wait times, and meet the needs of a growing county.
I am committed to supporting non‑partisan work that helps young people prepare to vote for the first time. Strengthening civic education is essential, and I want to see more opportunities for residents of Tippecanoe County—especially our youth—to learn how local government works and how its decisions affect their daily lives.
By expanding outreach, school visits, and community presentations in a truly bipartisan and inclusive manner, we can empower all voters to understand the importance of their voices. When people know how their government serves them, they are far more likely to register, participate, and exercise their fundamental right to vote.

Experience in Leadership and Management
Clerk Supervisor, Head of Women's Ministry, Manage and communicate with multiple nutrition clients
I bring more than 20 years of experience working within Tippecanoe County’s legal system. During that time, I have served in several roles, including working in the Clerk’s Office as a supervisor, as a paralegal in a private practice, as a court reporter working with many judges, and with the Board of Elections and Voter Registration.
Because of my professional experience, I have seen the system from every angle; inside the Clerk’s Office, inside the courtroom working with judges, and in the private legal sector. That broad background has given me a strong understanding of how the Clerk’s Office supports the courts and serves the public.
I am prepared not just to manage the office, but to lead it with confidence from day one.
The Clerk’s Office plays a vital role in our county. While much of the work happens behind the scenes, the office touches the lives of many people in Tippecanoe County.
The Clerk supports the court system, issues marriage licenses, preserves official public records, manages court related financial transactions, and administers elections and voter registration.
This office MUST operate with professionalism, accuracy, and strong commitment to public service. Many people who come to the office are navigating personal or stressful moments in their lives. They deserve clear information and to be treated with kindness, respect, and efficiency.
This office requires not just experience, but steady leadership and accountability.
My priority is to ensure the Clerk’s Office operates in a way that is organized, efficient, and transparent for the people of Tippecanoe County.
With my experience across multiple roles in the court system, I understand where processes can be improved and how departments can work more effectively together.
I will focus on making services easier for the public to access and understand, ensuring systems are current and user-friendly, and supporting staff so they can perform their work at a high level.
Strong leadership also means listening to employees, to court partners, and to the public, and using that input to continually improve how the office serves the community.
Encouraging voter participation starts with clear communication, education, and trust in the process.
I have experience working directly with voter registration and elections, and I understand how important it is that people feel confident and informed when they participate.
I will focus on outreach to young voters, partnership with local schools, and making sure accurate information is easy to find through community events, social medial and trusted public resources.
It is equally important to support seniors and others who may need additional assistance navigating the process.
