Tippecanoe County Surveyor

In an Indiana Primary you may choose either a Democratic Ballot OR a Republican Ballot. You may NOT vote in both Primaries.The Surveyor’s Office oversees all section corners throughout the county; reviews and inspects all new residential, commercial and industrial developments for compliance with the County Storm-water Ordinance; supervises construction, reconstruction and maintenance of county drains and ditches.The following is an outline of the responsibilities centered around and within the surveyor’s office:DrainageGets involved Department of Natural ResourcesDevelops drainage studies and specifications for all drains as neededEx officio member of the County Drainage Board, as required by state lawInvestigates alleged drainage obstructions petitioned for removal by property owners, as required by state lawManages the construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of all county regulated (legal) drains for the County Drainage Board, as required by state lawSupervises investments of the Regulated Drain AssessmentsMaintains Tippecanoe County Regulated Drain MapPhase II Storm-water ProgramParticipate in the Federal Storm-water ProgramManage and Coordinate Clean Water Act required by the U.S. EPA to establish the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting programSection CornersMaintains Benchmark data filesPerpetuates and maintains section corners as required by State LawUpholds the Section Corner Ordinance GIS MappingDigital map of the Section Corner monuments and reference sheets (dossier)GIS Policy Committee, PresidentMapping of County Regulated drains, watersheds and GPS locations of the county tile networkPlanningMember of the County Subdivision Review Committee, the County Zoning Ordinance Review CommitteeReviews all Plats of Subdivision of county land in accordance with the County Drainage OrdinanceTerm: 4 years
