As the Montgomery County Recorder, I believe my most important responsibility is the safekeeping of documents pertaining to the ownership of real estate (residential and commercial) and the military discharges of my fellow Veterans from the United States Armed Forces. The maintenance and protection of real property is important to homeowners and small businesses. Because of this important responsibility, I implemented a fraud detection system. This system notifies property owners of unauthorized and fraudulent activity which could threaten their ownership interest. Additionally, I implemented the Veteran Identification Card Program to assist our Veterans in obtaining earned benefits. Too many of our Veterans have been denied access to benefits, programs and basic needs due to a lack of identification. As Recorder, I implemented the Veteran Identification Card Program to ensure every Veteran has the ability to be connected to their earned benefits.
As a Veteran, Attorney, Magistrate, Acting Judge or the Montgomery County Recorder, public service has been a calling I have continuously answered throughout my life. During the first two years of my tenure as Recorder, the Montgomery County residents experienced the impact of my work ethic and dedication to serving the community. The most notable programs I have implemented to date include: the Fraud Alert Notification System, the Veteran Identification Card Program, and the Voices for Vets Advisory Group. I am the best qualified candidate for the position because I've been doing the work and will continue to do the work due to my commitment to serving the citizens of Montgomery County.
