Position/philosophy statement A fair and balanced tax approach, that is fiscally responsible today, with careful planning for the future of our county.
School facility funding is the responsibility of the county to fund, Bond debt & taxing policies to pay for it in the future as Guilford County already has one of the highest property tax rates of all counties in the US. Opioid use & mental health issues also affect many residents. Guilford County is experiencing rapid growth and population expansion will put pressure on schools, housing, land use and infrastructure. By using my experience & knowledge, working with staff & elected officials and the public on solutions that are most cost effective. I will work with and listen to industry professionals in economic development, real estate, education & health fields to craft policies that will provide the best solutions for the entire county.
I am a licensed building contractor and have been a business owner since 1988 in Guilford county. I have served my community for many years on various city and civic boards and commissions. As an elected official, I served five years on the High Point City Council, 2 terms as Mayor Pro Tem and as a former Mayor.
