Position/philosophy statement I believe that we should use the most up to date technology and innovative business methods to provide courteous public service.
Leadership is the most serious issue. The Register of Deeds needs an experienced, knowledgeable leader who can make sure that the most up to date technology and innovative business methods are being used to deliver efficient, friendly service to the people of Alamance County. The Register of Deeds also needs to make sure that the office is able to serve those customers who are not as familiar with computers and the newest technology. Good service to the public is our most important goal.
I will review the software technology currently used by the Register of Deeds and see if it can be replaced with a more user friendly software. I will see if more information at the Register of Deeds can be put on line without compromising security and private information. I will revise the website. Also I will emphasize to the clerks that we need to take the time to help customers who get and receive information by more traditional ways. We need to reach the computer literate and the computer non literate.
