I am honored to serve as the elected Register of Deeds for Moore County. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience both inside the office and throughout the communities we serve. I have studied the history of the office, learning how and why records have been maintained and protected since the 1800s. That knowledge, combined with hands on experience, has helped me strengthen, modernize, and expand one of the county’s most important offices. I remain committed to protecting the integrity of our records, improving public access, and ensuring the Register of Deeds office continues to serve the citizens of Moore County with accuracy, professionalism, and integrity.
One of the most important issues facing the Register of Deeds office today is deed and document fraud. As technology continues to evolve, criminals have new opportunities to create fraudulent documents and attempt to illegally transfer or claim ownership of property. Protecting the integrity of our public records and the property rights of our citizens must remain a priority. I am committed to strengthening safeguards, educating property owners about potential fraud, and advocating for legislation that gives Registers of Deeds and law enforcement better tools to prevent and address fraudulent filings.
We are constantly making changes, sometimes daily, to ensure the Register of Deeds office provides the best possible service to our community. My focus is on protecting our records wherever the law allows, educating citizens about deed and document fraud, and helping the public better understand the services our office provides. We continually review our processes and procedures to identify opportunities for modernization, greater efficiency, and improved accessibility. The goal is simple: protect the integrity of our records while providing accurate, efficient, and dependable service to the citizens of Moore County.
It is a privilege and an honor to serve the citizens of Moore County as your elected Register of Deeds. I want every citizen to know that our office is here to serve you. Whether you have a question about property records, deeds, birth certificates, marriage records, death certificates, or any of the many services our office provides, we are happy to help. If your question or concern falls outside the responsibilities of the Register of Deeds, we will still do our best to point you in the right direction and connect you with the appropriate office or resource. Public service is about helping people, and my staff and I are committed to providing every citizen with professional, courteous, and dependable service.
