Current Occupation
Assistant Clerk of Court

My career has prepared me to serve as Clerk of Superior Court from day one. As an attorney, former magistrate and current Assistant Clerk and head bookkeeper, I bring legal knowledge, judicial experience, financial accountability and firsthand understanding of the office’s daily operations. I also understand the importance of strong leadership, excellent customer service and treating every person with dignity and respect. I know this office, I know our community, and I am prepared to lead with experience, integrity and a long-term commitment to Anson County.
The most important issues facing the Clerk’s Office are adapting to Enterprise Justice, maintaining accurate court and financial records, and providing timely, respectful service despite growing workloads. Employees need continued training and cross-training as laws, procedures and technology change. The office must also remain accessible to citizens who are unfamiliar with electronic systems, protect confidential information and public funds, and help warn the community about courthouse scams. Meeting these challenges requires experienced leadership focused on accuracy, accountability, efficiency and treating every person with dignity and respect.
I would build on the office’s strengths by expanding cross-training, improving workflow efficiency and ensuring employees receive continued education as laws and technology change. I would promote consistent procedures across departments, strengthen communication and use Enterprise Justice to improve accuracy and service. I also want to make the office more accessible by providing clear information about court processes and available resources. Above all, I would foster a supportive, accountable workplace where employees feel valued and every person is treated with patience, dignity and respect.
