The most important challenge facing the Town of Boonton is the rising cost of providing the essential services that make our town desirable to live in. I am committed to finding ways to keep our costs as low as possible while preserving the unique character of our Main Street and open spaces. I believe we can control costs in several ways: by entering into shared service agreements with our neighboring communities, by pursuing grant funding to enhance our public spaces and by auditing the energy costs of our town buildings with an eye towards increasing efficiency.
As a 30 year resident of Boonton, I raised my two children here as a single mom. I have worked in the employee benefits field and have knowledge of 401(k) and pension plans. I owned Time To Knit on Main Street for five years and am familiar with the challenges that face small businesses - everything from competing with online vendors to finding adequate parking. I have worked as a math teacher, as a service tech dispatcher and a support specialist. These varied positions have one thing in common: I have to listen to others and understand what they need. I have learned much since taking this seat in August and I look forward to learning more as I continue to serve my hometown of choice.
