I'm a native Texan, Air Force veteran daughter, mother, business owner, human rights advocate, and 20+ year practicing lawyer. I have had the honor to serve Houston both as Deputy Chief of legislative affairs and now as State Representative for Northwest Houston for the past 3 terms. I bring personal, professional and actual government experience to my work as a public servant, as well as a spirit of cooperation, bi-partisanship and common sense solutions to the state legislature. At a time when politics is more divisive than responsive to the public, I endeavor to remain focused on people, neighborhoods, communities, schools, businesses, and what each needs to thrive. My focus is to keep the pulse on their needs and advocate for them.
One of the topmost challenges at the State Capitol is the lack of true debate on policy that impacts every Texan. All voices should be heard and honored in the making and administration of governing laws in order to truly reflect the public opinion. With your continued input, I work to represent your voice in all policy-making and legislative debate. Secondly, as our great state grows in population and resources are exponentially used, we are challenged with providing and protecting the resources that we depend on for business growth, health, recreation, public safety and much more. Every Texan deserves the resources and means to realize the American Dream and that is what inspires me to serve our state and those who call Texas home.
