The most important role as the Chesterfield Soil and Water Conservation District Director is to promote and advocate for the grants and opportunities that the James River Soil and Water Conservation District has to offer. The following are some of what I will promote, Agricultural Cost Share Program, Nutrient Management Plan, renting of the No-till Seed Drill, Virginia Conservation Assistance Program, Annual Envirothon Competition, Youth Conservation Camp, and more.
The greatest challenge is reaching out to over 300,000 community members in Chesterfield about Soil & Water. I plan to address this by being active with posting updates online, going to community events, fairs, festivals, and talking to the community members ongoing, not just during an election. This is a volunteer unpaid position, so I will plan to treat it as a volunteer part-time job.
My priorities will be to outreach to the community. I plan to help grow the Chesterfield community together in conservation education and environmental advocacy. I care deeply about the James River, Swift Creek Reservoir, and Lake Chesdin, along with all of the natural resources residents of Chesterfield enjoy. I am committed to respecting the land that feeds us and help preserve it for the next generation. I will always be an advocate for our farmers and agricultural communities.
