I believe that well-planned growth in both residential and commercial is important to our County. We can have responsible growth, but only if we plan for it, and balance the interests of families with those of the business community. My priorities for managing residential and commercial growth would be to ensure that it is not too rapid, ill planned and does not add traffic congestion and add undue stress on our schools and essential services.
Yes, I support. Bicycle and pedestrian lanes and paths are a vital part of the County’s multi-modal transportation infrastructure. They are important because reduce traffic congestion and pollution, provide an alternate means of travel for those who don’t have a car, they also provide recreational and exercise that contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
An increasing gap between housing costs and household income has created barriers to affordable housing. I would support development that provides a mix of housing options, from market- rate and affordable rental housing, single- family homes, duplexes, and developments for seniors, ensures opportunities for all individuals to improve their economic situation .Have policies that encourage better design of affordable housing and require developers to include affordable housing in larger projects.
Well-Planned Growth-I will ensure that growth is responsible and well-planned. I will make sure that growth balances the interests of families with those of the business community. I will be transparent and open regarding new development. Investment in Education-I will put our children first by adequately funding our schools. Access to Transportation-I will work to increase access to alternative affordable options of transportation to all citizens including the elderly, low income and unemployed
