• My number one responsibility is to keep the community safe. I am pleased that, under my leadership, crime rates have dropped. However, I want to do that in a way that is productive, constructive and compassionate. For those that commit violent crimes, the response should be incarceration. For those who are committing crimes due to untreated underlying mental and behavioral health concerns, we need to search and utilize alternatives to incarceration. We want to look at the root causes of crimes
• I support all of those and they are policies in my office.
• To continue and enhance the criminal justice reform policies I have initiated. And to make certain that the community is safe. I want to continue to build on the diversity in my office to make sure it reflects the diversity of Henrico.
