Town where you live Lacey
Experience (300 characters max) I have served the community through the Thurston County Coaltion Against Trafficking, Celebrate Recover, Mens Ministry Board and Habitat for Humanity. I have led several of these groups in their community outreach.
I have served this community for over 18 years I am currently serving with the Thurston County Coaltion Against Trafficking, Helping protect our children from the evils of human trafficking. I also teach at Celebrate Recovery helping youth stay clear of hurts, habits and hangups to give them a better chance of success in life. I am on the Ministry Mens Ministry Board doing community outreach and I have served with Habitat for Humanity, giving a hand up to those in need. As a Loan Officer I understand the need for budgets and numbers that work for the good of today and tomorrow. I am also a former Department of Defense Employee and my wife is a United States Army Veteran, I realize how important it is that we all work as one cohesive unit to obtain our objective. I believe I have shown that I have the City of Lacey's best interest at heart. I will continue these efforts and I will continue to help protect and grow the next generation.
Lacey has tremendous growth on the horizon. I would like to see the citizens of Lacey have more of the goods and services they need right here in the city and not have to go to other cities to get them. I would also like to see the citizens of Lacey have Jobs in the City of Lacey. I see more retail, more manufacturing and more housing in our future. I see other cities coming to Lacey to get the things they need. To have their events here, use our parks and enjoy our retail and services. I see Lacey expanding and keeping the same high level of service we currently deliver to our citizens. I also see us doing good things for the youth and the seniors of this community. Bridging the gap between generations.
In order to protect against sea level rise, we may have to consider moving the LOTT plant or constructing a wall to protect the plant. Perhaps constructing a sea wall will be less disruptive and less expensive.
I think its unnecessary unless the septic completely fails. If properly maintained, septic systems do a great job of disposal and conversion of sewage.
I think the issue is people dont want to pay more taxes. I think when we have a broader citizenship base and the cost can be spread out over more people and homes this will be an easier decision for the citizens of Lacey to make.
I think we can best respond with compassion, understanding, rules and regulations. There are no throw away people. we do need them to serve their purpose and help us succeed. Homelessness is not always a choice, but you can choose to get out of it.
We should follow the immigration policies while having compassion for others.
