My top state priority issues include affordable public education, pension reform, and social and environmental justice. I believe these issues are at the forefront of concerns facing the residents of New Jersey and I plan to continue to work diligently to ensure that each of these issues will be supported with comprehensive legislation.
Property taxes is one of the most prominent issues facing the residents of New Jersey. In recent years, I have worked with my colleagues to provide property tax relief to residents through the homestead rebate program. If I am fortunate enough to be re-elected, I propose a continued effort to extend the homestead rebate program to additional New Jersey residents and find supplementary solutions that lower property taxes.
Promoting job growth is essential to advancing New Jersey’s economy. One of the current issues that I have been a staunch advocate for down in Trenton is the legalization of marijuana. In addition to addressing the social justice components of marijuana prohibition laws, New Jersey has a real opportunity to boost its economy through a regulated market. I believe strongly that creating a regulated marijuana market would provide access to many employment opportunities and stimulate healthy economic growth in the state of New Jersey. I will continue the push for legalization as a source of job growth and work with my colleagues across the aisle to advance other methods that are in the best interest of New Jersey residents.
